Entry#13 for the Wancket Studios dream portrait contest

#13

I never dreamed of a portrait, but to capture history of a special relationship, now that is special.

I can picture a grandfather trying to teach his first grandson and name sake how to tie a formal tie.

We had two daughters and my husband was one of six boys. When our second grandchild was born

and it was a boy our daughter named him after her father.  She said she thought she was suppose to be that

boy, and now that she had a boy, her dad would not  feel slighted from his wants or hopes, or dreams of a boy.

We were at a wedding and no one could  fix our grandsons tie, it was hanging out of his pocket. His father bashfully

stated he used clip-on ties. I rushed him behind a curtain and sent grampa to fix his tie. It is a picture that has stayed

in my mind of a grandfather being needed, and a grandson proud to look grown up.
