Beauty, Grace and Business of the Classic Portrait by Audrey Wancket

"McKinzie and Mom"
On February 20th I was asked to present my program on Classic Portraiture at the MARC (Mid America Regional Conference). As many of you know, I enjoy sharing my Passion for Artistic Classical photography. I have been doing this long enough to see that the “very trendy” styles do not last on clients walls longer than the trend itself while classical portraits remain and are passed down for generations.
I am fortunate to have learned photography when the “knowledge” itself was the basis for a good photograph. We did not have the mentality that we could always fix it in Photoshop later. We in fact understood that quality is getting your image right-from the camera. Composition is something I see through the lens, not later as an afterthought.
During my program, I demonstrated a session. It is always fun and of course a challenge photographing a child in front of a crowd. This little beauty, McKinzie was a little unsure to start but quickly captured the hearts of the audience.
For my next speaking engagement, I will be travelling a bit longer than my trip to Indianapolis. I have been asked to present a program on the "Art of Children's Portraiture" in Korea. I'll keep you posted-
Audrey
