Images from Korea
I returned from my trip to Korea about a week ago. I know you have been asking to see some more images so I will post a few at a time as I get them organized.
This one is from one of the Temples we visited.

Greetings from the other side of the world. Just a quick hello from Seoul, Korea. Today, I presented a Program on children's portraits to the Professional Photographers of Korea. The program went really well. They treat you like a star over here. I think I had my picture taken with 50 different photographers when I was finished.
The flight to Korea was very very long. When we arrivied we were picked up and taken to a home of one of the board of directors to this group. His family cooked a traditional Korean meal. We sat at the dining room table(sitting on the floor) The food was non stop. I have to admit I was careful on what I tried.
This picture is with my interpreter Sae Lee. It was a new experience speaking this way. I will try to post more images.

Here are the details...
I believe that a great experience is as important as a great product. when I shop, I tend to frequent businesses that try to make the visit an experience. I think that is why I gravitate to boutiques where this philosophy is embraced.
I never understand the “snob” mentality and why consumers accept that. I visited a restaurant the other night where I truly love the food. When I went in this time, they were so rude and of course they felt they could be because they are always busy which they pointed out. I thought to myself, I drove a long way anticipating a great meal, however why would I stay or pay for such attitude? It left a bad taste-not one I want with my dinner. We left and found another restaurant where we had great service and a delicious meal.
My desire is that each and every visit you have at Wancket Studios is an experience.

"McKinzie and Mom"
On February 20th I was asked to present my program on Classic Portraiture at the MARC (Mid America Regional Conference). As many of you know, I enjoy sharing my Passion for Artistic Classical photography. I have been doing this long enough to see that the “very trendy” styles do not last on clients walls longer than the trend itself while classical portraits remain and are passed down for generations.
I am fortunate to have learned photography when the “knowledge” itself was the basis for a good photograph. We did not have the mentality that we could always fix it in Photoshop later. We in fact understood that quality is getting your image right-from the camera. Composition is something I see through the lens, not later as an afterthought.
During my program, I demonstrated a session. It is always fun and of course a challenge photographing a child in front of a crowd. This little beauty, McKinzie was a little unsure to start but quickly captured the hearts of the audience.
For my next speaking engagement, I will be travelling a bit longer than my trip to Indianapolis. I have been asked to present a program on the "Art of Children's Portraiture" in Korea. I'll keep you posted-

Why might you ask would I talk about this in my Wancket Studios blog? Well, first and foremost, my life is personally affected as I have 2 people in my immediate family that have MS ( Multiple Sclerosis). I find that almost every person either has a family member or a friend that deals with this disease of the central nervous system. The cause is still unknown and of course there are many theories.
since this is Education and Awareness month, I wanted to share with you a website and blog that My sister, Joy Wagner RN, BSN has developed. It is called FitMS. On her website, you will find everything from support groups, the latest studies and information, health issues and fitness and nutrition for individuals battling MS as well as other illnesses.
I encourage you to visit her website as well as share this information with anyone affected by this disease.
She also has a facebook fan page....
thanks for listening.
