This beautiful Pomeranian "Bambi" was brought to us By Janet and Alden Domrase. They are the owners of Alden's Kennels in Ringwood Illinois. I love adding animals to our client's portraits (their own of course) but for many their pets are their children...Enjoy

Last week Fashion Designer Carly Hamer brought her new collection to Wancket Studios to photograph. It was great working with Fawna (the model) and these beautiful designs.watch the video for a sneak peak...
This past week at Wancket Studios was Duck week. This is one of my favorite weeks at the studio because to me is signifies the beginning of spring. The days are getting longer and the sun shows its face more and more through the seemingly constant cloud cover of winter.
I love watching the children come into the studio and immediately ask, “Where are the ducks?” Seeing the children and the ducks interact is truly adorable and it’s hard not to smile. Especially, considering I’m crawling around on the floor trying to coral half a dozen ducks.
One thing you will not see me without during this week is my trusty pocket full of paper towels. The ducks are animals and therefore not potty-trained which means someone has to clean up after them. This year I was asked by one of the parents if cleaning up after the ducks was in my job description. I promptly replied “absolutely” and she chuckled assuming I had made a joke. No joke folks, here is the segment from my actual job description. “Be prepared to work with and help clean up after animals that are brought in for portraits.”
I am very excited, and happy to announce, the completion of 5 NEW backgrounds for the studio. Three of the backgrounds are formal, and the other two are more casual and contemporary. I have some time to “play” with them during the next few weeks (yes, it is all fun for me), and I’m looking for some muses (bodies) to help create some sample images to be introduced by the end of May. These backgrounds influence a broad range of creative opportunities for me, and I would like to see what possibilities and styles come out of them.
I’m looking for both individual models and groups to pose for me in front of these unique pieces of art. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in taking part in this fun activity, please contact me by either commenting on this blog, or posting on my Wancket Studios Portrait Photography facebook page. Make sure you leave a way for us to get in contact, and I will soon connect with you to see if we can find a way to make it happen.
This is a fun opportunity, and I will offer any participant a complimentary 8x10 “miniature art piece” of the most stunning image we create with you. I may want you to bring your closet with you as well. I look forward to hearing from you!
